Fall-Winter 2025 fashion shows are yet another vivid confirmation that the onset of cold weather is not a hindrance to self-expression through style. Colors and prints are no longer divided into summer and winter, so you can afford literally any move. Trends inspire – for bold accents and for great experiments: sure, even fans of classics and base this season can afford them.
Color palette and prints
Beige, cream, brown
Shades from this range are at the heart of the sensational trend of old money due to their softness and noble restraint. They are universal and therefore will easily find a common language with almost all other colors of your closet. In autumn and winter looks this range looks like a bold decision and, although the trend is not the first season, still helps to be more noticeable among those who classically wear black, dark blue and dark gray.
Red, burgundy
Wine shades are a traditional trend for fall. This year the company of burgundy tones was made up of expressive red color. And with it designers advise to be as decisive as possible, including it in images not only as an accent. They give a green light to red total-bow looks: take note.
Emerald
It’s as much of an autumn classic as burgundy. Expressive, deep, saturated – it has all the qualities to fall in love. With “emerald” you can get the same laconic everyday image as with basic colors, such as black, only the result will look much more interesting. And it should be noted that it is perfectly combined with all the main fall shades up to leafy red and mustard.
Black
Black color is not so relevant in summer. But in fall and winter, it gets a lot of shades – due to the fact that it is used in different textures. Embossed knitwear, fine wool, leather, mesh, lace, velour, tweed – each of these fabrics gives black its own “character”. It’s time to try to combine them.
“Wet asphalt”
In autumn, perhaps, all shades of gray are relevant. But this time the shade of wet asphalt is in the foreground: not too light, not too dark. It has depth and special expressiveness, with which “gray” images in this color – not just casual-base.
Pink
Barbie-core, perhaps, left no one indifferent. And, although the sensational movie has already disappeared from the radar, the trend for pink color is still in force. In addition to doll pink, other colors from this range are also relevant: fuchsia, dusty pink and many others. It’s worth it to try life in pink.
Metallic
Time for the most precious shades: gold, silver, bronze – the basis of the trend. But it’s not limited to them. Other colors can be found with steel reflections: burgundy, green, pink – from “dusty” to bright fuchsia. Don’t miss the opportunity to shine when the trends are pushing you to do so.
“Animal” prints
Leopard print, which once had a reputation for vulgarity, is now becoming a closet staple – and only welcome. And along with it, other animalistic motifs: snake, crocodile, zebra print and more.
Cage
Why do we love to wear plaid print in the fall-winter season? It’s a reference to Christmas motifs, a hint to the coziness of wool plaid plaids – everyone has their own associations. Anyway – now is the moment when you should add colors and accents to your image by choosing a large plaid. Or, for example, go classic and wear an elegant plaid suit under an elegant coat.
Denim
The denim trend undergoes transformations every season. Fall-Winter 2025 is no exception. This time the conclusion is that there should be more denim! It is being called for in total-looks, and the number of ways to create it is growing. Jeans plus a denim shirt or jacket is not the only combination for such outfits. Tops with original silhouette, denim corsets, maxi skirts made of denim, dresses – choose objects for experimentation and boldly try this trend.
By the way, it is worth mentioning decorated denim in the spirit of the noughties. Jeans with metallic spraying, embroidered with beads, pearls, decorated with rhinestones – these models were in the top and, it seems, so far confidently hold this position.
Leather
Even in the most neutral shade, such as black, leather can create contrast. Contrast between soft and brutal if you pair leather with a fuzzy sweater. Between delicate and daring, if the skin was in the same image with lace or fine knitwear. With leather (both natural and eco) your outfit will be not only spectacular, but also practical, because it is a non-blowing material, comfortable in cold weather.
Braiding
The trend for weaving this season has many incarnations. If in spring and summer there were many references to macramé and ethnic motifs, now there are many more sources of inspiration. In new collections we see openwork sweaters and cardigans, sweaters “with braids” of large knitting, jackets, skirts and dresses with tweed weave and much more. The big advantage of this trend is that it is easy to “wear”, fitting into your everyday life.
Payettes
Last year, feathers were a winter hit in the run-up to the holidays, but the trend turned out to be fleeting. But sequins are still relevant today. It’s another way to add a metallic effect to your look. However, sequins can also be transparent – in this case they create a texture of wet “scales” on the fabric, which also looks very unusual.
Fur
Artificial fur is at the peak of popularity. Especially plush fur, which is pleasant to the touch and makes things a bit toy-like. Designers are not embarrassed by this at all. Moreover, they only enhance this impression with bright colors of fur, choosing blue, turquoise, green, fuchsia. However, and in natural colors such items – for example, fur coats coat styles – are also released.
Silhouettes and styles
The layered effect
Layering is a natural trend for fall and winter. In the cold weather you want to wrap yourself in a couple of warm plaids, so when you go out, you can dress in three or even four layers. And the main thing is that the catwalks only support it. And the most actual is layering on each other things with different levels of bottom, with asymmetry, with different textures, from fabrics that create drapery. So with this trend you can freely experiment.
“Hourglass.”
Although this silhouette is characterized by an emphasized waist, we are not talking about the Dior new look. The accents have shifted: coats, dresses and jackets are narrowed at the waist, while the shoulders are widened, making them more voluminous and masculine. Thanks to this, the hourglass curves are even more pronounced and the silhouette looks spectacular.
Oversize
It would seem that the trend for oversize is no longer surprising. However, it also opens new facets. What is relevant today is grotesque oversize – when it seems that the thing is not just voluminous, but big by a couple or three sizes, if not more. Broad shoulders, loose sleeves, in which the hands are “lost” – in a word, these are things in which you “drown”. At the same time, the more “classic” oversize is still in fashion.
Emphasis on sleeves
Judging by the latest collections, any way to accentuate the sleeves is accepted. It can be short lantern sleeves or long buff sleeves, loose bell sleeves, flared sleeves or with a flounce closer to the wrist. Designers’ experiments concern not only the cut, but also materials: fur, feathers, sequins, fringes, flounces, cuts and other details that inevitably attract attention are used more often on the sleeves.
By the way, another manifestation of this trend can be considered the growing popularity of long gloves up to the shoulders or even higher, which are combined with sleeveless dresses and blouses.
Complex cuts
With intricately woven ribbons of fabrics, asymmetry, original cuts and deconstruction elements, such items will definitely take a special place in your closet. This is the opposite of minimalism, which, however, can look just as noble and refined.
